What is Direct Primary Care?
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a model of care where the patient pays an upfront monthly membership fee for high-quality and low-cost primary care. This means no surprise fees or being billed differently for sick visits versus wellness visits. This model is accessible to all.
There are no per visit copays and the patient’s insurance is not billed for Honeybee Holistic Health’s services. This model of care allows freedom of care between the provider and the patient with no fear of hidden costs. Those with no health insurance or high-deductible plans may enjoy this freedom of care without high copays each visit. Patients who carry insurance but want more accessible care to their Family Provider directly for their child’s needs or their own needs may enjoy this model.
Care through a DPC provider does not imply a patient should not carry insurance. Insurance should still be carried in case of emergencies and hospitalizations. Direct Primary Care covers unlimited outpatient services including majorly discounted labs, discounted medications, and discounted imaging for members.
The focus of Direct Primary Care is ongoing wellness and prevention to prevent unnecessary hospitalizations or costly visits to the ER for primary care services.
